Hey! We’re looking for an experienced Senior Front-End Developer (Project Lead) to join our team at Commerce-UI.

If you're excited about working with strong eCommerce brands, taking real ownership, and shaping how things are built and not just executing, this might be a great fit.

This isn’t a typical dev job. You’ll be the technical lead on real production projects, solving real business problems through technology. From the first line of code to launch, you’ll have end-to-end ownership, defining how we build, mentoring others, and ensuring our clients’ visions come to life beautifully and reliably.

You’ll work alongside other highly skilled and dedicated developers, designers, and project managers. People who care deeply about quality, craft, and collaboration. We’re a small, senior team, so every person has a big impact.

What we do

Since 2019, we’ve worked with brands like Lady Gaga, Carhartt WIP, Magda Butrym and Rolex, and collaborated with designers from Pentagram, ex-Tesla, and ex-Apple.

We're focused entirely on eCommerce, and our goal is simple: to be one of the best eCommerce tech teams in the world.

About the Role

What you’ll do

• Lead front-end development for top-tier eCommerce projects and be the person the client talks to: weekly calls, agreeing on priorities, explaining your choices

• Work closely with a PM who keeps the project organized, so you can focus on hands-on work. Collaborate with designers and other devs to turn ideas into high-performing storefronts

• Write clean, reliable code that is ready for production

• Make key technical and architectural decisions, and explain why you made them

• Own the whole project, not just your own tasks: scope, risks, delivery and the result for the client

• Continuously push for better engineering practices and scalable solutions

• Contribute to internal standards, tooling, and AI-assisted workflows, and help the team find where AI really saves time

• Mentor other developers and promote best practices

Who you are and what we are looking for

• A senior engineer with 5+ years in JavaScript/TypeScript, ideally React / Next.js / React-Router or a similar framework

• You have worked with clients from the outside, not as part of their team (agency, consultancy, freelance). This is a must

• You’ve led production projects or small teams before. You know how to ship

• You value pragmatic engineering. You focus on what works and scales, not over-engineering

• You care about both the craft and the outcome: elegant solutions that drive real business results, with an eye for polish, UX, and performance

• You enjoy working in small, dedicated teams and take ownership of the whole project, not just your task

• You use AI tools every day and know where they help and where they don’t

• Comfortable managing multiple shifting priorities with support from PM and engineering managers

• Strong communication: you can discuss trade-offs with clients and teammates. Fluent English (for client work) and at least B2 Polish

• Bonus: experience with headless commerce (Shopify, Commerce Layer, etc.)

How our hiring process looks like?

1. Application → send us your CV and any link/portfolio that show your craft. We review every application and always get back to you - regardless of the outcome.

2. Discovery call → this is short (30 minutes) mutual check-in - we want to understand your expectations and share ours. We will talk in Polish, and English.

3. Task → a short focused task based on the kind of work we actually do. ~2 hours with clear instructions. We respect your time.

4. Tech call → a deep dive into how you think and solve problems. You’ll chat with Kuba or Tom (our Engineering Managers) - no trick questions, just real talk about tech and delivery.

5. Offer → if it’s a match, we’ll schedule a short call (20-30 minutes) to go over the details and next steps. If we don’t move forward we’ll do our best to give you thoughtful feedback.
