Optical Engineer

Rate: up to 160 PLN nett + vat/ hour

Summary: The Optical Engineer will focus on the development of next-generation automotive camera systems, particularly in Driver Monitoring Systems (DMS) and Camera Monitoring Systems (CMS). The main objective is to deliver advanced optical systems that enhance automotive safety.

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and optimize optical components and systems for automotive camera applications.

• Lead optical modelling and performance analysis using ray-tracing tools.

• Develop and validate solutions incorporating optical and laser technologies.

• Define system requirements for integration into camera architectures.

• Conduct laboratory testing and validation of optical components.

• Select suppliers and evaluate optical components during sourcing.

• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams of engineers.

• Transition optical designs from concept to production.

• Analyze and resolve optical performance issues during all phases.

Key Requirements:

• Master's/Bachelor's in Physics, Optics, Photonics, Optical Engineering, or related field.

• 5+ years in optical engineering.

• 5+ years in the automotive industry, ideally with camera technologies.

• Experience in design and development of optical components.

• Proficiency with optical simulation software (Zemax, Code V, LightTools).

• Familiarity with radiometric and photometric testing equipment.

• Strong laboratory experience with measurement equipment.

• Experience with product industrialization.

• Fluent in English (written and spoken).

Nice to Have:

• Experience in automotive active safety or ADAS.

• Knowledge of optical manufacturing processes.

• Familiarity with automotive development standards.

• Experience with suppliers and development partners.
