Senior C++ Software Engineer

Senior C++ Software Engineer — Low-Latency Trading

Build high-performance systems where every microsecond matters.

Location: Poland, hybrid 3 days from Wroclaw or Krakow
Seniority: Senior
Technology stack: C++, Linux, Python
Domain: Financial Services / Algorithmic Trading

About the role

In high-performance trading, every microsecond counts. Are you a C++ engineer who enjoys solving complex performance challenges and building software where speed, reliability, and precision are critical?

We’re looking for a Senior C++ Software Engineer to join an engineering team developing a low-latency trading platform. You’ll work on exchange connectivity and algorithmic trading systems serving clients across major European financial markets.

This role combines advanced C++ development, Linux-based performance engineering, and hands-on responsibility for mission-critical production systems. You’ll contribute throughout the software development lifecycle, from analyzing trading requirements and designing new features to automated testing, deployment, and production support.

You’ll also have the opportunity to leverage AI-powered development tools and help improve engineering workflows through automation.

Your responsibilities

• Design, develop, and optimize low-latency C++ components for exchange connectivity and algorithmic trading platforms.

• Analyze trading requirements and translate them into reliable, high-performance software solutions.

• Apply modern software engineering practices across development, testing, deployment, and maintenance.

• Implement functional and non-functional requirements, ensuring software quality, security, reliability, and compliance.

• Develop and maintain automated tests for critical C++ components.

• Build observability into applications, monitor production health, and investigate performance issues.

• Provide L3 production support for mission-critical systems, including incident triage, troubleshooting, and root-cause analysis.

• Identify and remediate technical risks to improve system stability and operational resilience.

• Collaborate with engineers and other stakeholders to continuously improve the platform.

• Use AI coding assistants such as GitHub Copilot to support day-to-day development.

• Explore MCP-based integrations and automation opportunities to streamline repetitive engineering tasks.

What you’ll bring

• Strong commercial experience with modern C++, using at least C++14 or C++17; knowledge of C++20 is an advantage.

• Excellent understanding of multithreading, memory management, data structures, and algorithmic complexity.

• Solid experience developing and debugging applications in Linux environments.

• Practical knowledge of tools such as GDB, perf, strace, and shell scripting.

• Experience writing and maintaining C++ unit tests.

• Familiarity with test automation frameworks, such as Robot Framework.

• Working knowledge of Python for scripting, tooling, or test automation.

• Experience with Git-based development workflows and CI/CD pipelines.

• Familiarity with Ansible or similar configuration management tools.

• Experience supporting production systems, including incident investigation and root-cause analysis.

• Familiarity with AI coding assistants such as GitHub Copilot or comparable tools.

• A proactive approach to problem-solving and a strong sense of ownership.

• Good communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively within an engineering team.

Nice to have

Experience in any of the following areas will be a strong advantage:

Low-latency engineering

• Lock-free data structures and concurrency optimization.

• Kernel-bypass networking technologies, such as DPDK or Solarflare.

• Cache-aware design and NUMA tuning.

• Microsecond-sensitive performance optimization.

Performance analysis

• Advanced profiling with perf, Intel VTune, and flame graphs.

• Micro-benchmarking frameworks such as Google Benchmark.

• Understanding of CPU caches, branch prediction, memory hierarchy, and network interface cards.

Financial technology

• Financial messaging protocols such as FIX, ITCH, or OUCH.

• Experience with native exchange APIs.

• Previous work on exchange connectivity, smart order routing, or execution algorithms.

Automation and observability

• Experience building or integrating MCP servers.

• AI-assisted engineering workflow automation.

• Monitoring and observability tools such as Corvil and Geneos.

• PCAP analysis and network-level troubleshooting.

Why join?

• Work on technically challenging, low-latency trading systems operating in demanding financial markets.

• Tackle complex C++ performance and optimization challenges.

• Contribute to mission-critical applications where reliability and efficiency are essential.

• Take ownership across the full software development lifecycle, including production support.

• Explore modern AI-assisted development tools and engineering automation.

• Collaborate with experienced engineers in a technically demanding environment.
