We are looking for a Senior Instructional Designer to join the internal learning team of a pharmaceutical company. The team turns training requests from across the business into finished learning content. This role sits in a small group that handles quick, well-defined work, while a separate team takes on larger programs.

You will take learning requests from first brief to finished asset. That means short e-learning modules, microlearning, job aids, and updates to existing courses, often on tight deadlines and with AI-assisted tools. The ideal candidate works independently from loose briefs, checks their own work carefully, and enjoys trying out new tools.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in instructional design, curriculum development, or learning content development

• Senior or lead-level ownership of learning projects

• Strong command of adult learning theory

• Hands-on use of instructional design frameworks such as ADDIE, SAM, or equivalent

• A portfolio showing end-to-end ownership of learning deliverables, from initial request to finished product

• Hands-on expertise with e-learning authoring tools such as Articulate 360 (including Rise) or Adobe Captivate

• Ability to learn new software quickly, including AI-assisted content development tools

• Track record of delivering several learning assets in parallel on short timelines

• Ability to quality-check your own work to a senior standard before stakeholder review

• Availability to work hours that overlap with a US-based team

• Excellent written and verbal English communication skills

Nice to Have

• Experience in pharmaceutical, life sciences, or another regulated industry

• Experience with generative AI tools for scripting, voiceover, video, or asset creation

• Experience working in a consulting, agency, or internal-consultancy model

• Experience as a contractor supporting a large enterprise client

• Experience building content directly in a corporate learning platform

Responsibilities

• Design and develop short e-learning modules, microlearning, job aids, and enablement materials

• Update and refresh existing learning content

• Turn business and performance needs into practical learning solutions

• Take ownership of each request from intake through final production

• Scope, build, and review requests together with the team lead and the wider learning team

• Manage several small and mid-size requests at the same time

• Flag requests that go beyond quick-delivery scope and redirect them to the team handling larger programmes

• Learn and apply the company’s content-development and AI-enabled tools to shorten build time

• Pilot new tools and methods and share what works with the wider learning organization

• Ensure content meets brand, accessibility, quality, and compliance standards

• Maintain documentation and version control for all deliverables
