Salary: 1000 - 1280 PLN/MD + VAT (B2B)

Work Model: elastic hybrid – an office visit once a month in Warsaw, Kraków, or the Tricity area

Project

You will be involved in a large-scale, cloud-based software project for one of Poland’s leading organizations in the logistics and e-commerce industry. As a Senior Backend Engineer, you will work in an international engineering team focused on building highly scalable and highly available applications that solve real-world problems for millions of users. This is an opportunity to join a well-established and rapidly growing Polish business and contribute to the development of a new fintech initiative from its early stages.

Expected competences and knowledge

• 5+ years of commercial experience as a Software Engineer, including hands-on experience with Python and Node.js

• Strong full-stack engineering experience across backend and frontend development

• Experience designing and developing event-driven systems

• Hands-on experience with React and/or Next.js

• Experience with Kafka and event-driven architectures

• Strong understanding of REST APIs and asynchronous communication

• Experience with state machines and distributed systems patterns such as Saga, Outbox and Idempotency

• Understanding of authorization flows, ledger and settlement processes

• Good communication skills in English (min. B2 level)

• Nice to have:

  • Knowledge of software security and compliance requirements, including PCI DSS and PSD2

  • Familiarity with KYC/KYB processes

  • Experience working in international and cross-functional engineering teams
