About the project

Currently, we are looking for an experienced Mainframe DB2 Database Expert with strong knowledge in DB2 technologies to design, implement, maintain, and optimize database environments. In this role, you will support complex technology projects, ensure database availability and security, and proactively identify opportunities to automate processes and improve operational efficiency.

Remuneration: 190 - 210 PLN net + VAT per hour on B2B

Your responsibilities

• Design, implement, maintain, and support DB2 database solutions in line with business requirements, quality standards, and industry best practices.
• Provide production support for database environments and manage database release processes.
• Analyze business and functional requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
• Define physical database designs and build, review, test, implement, and support application database releases.
• Build and maintain high-availability and replication solutions in collaboration with application and infrastructure teams.
• Implement and maintain DB2 security rules and access authorities using RACF/ACF2.
• Support data conversion and migration activities.
• Monitor service performance, maintain and improve SLAs, and ensure compliance with internal policies, procedures, and standards.
• Proactively analyze operational processes to identify automation opportunities, reduce repetitive tasks, and improve efficiency.
• Troubleshoot technical issues, identify processing anomalies, and resolve system errors.
• Collaborate with global teams and business stakeholders to share knowledge, promote best practices, and continuously improve service delivery.
• Identify opportunities to enhance service quality through process optimization, technical improvements, and knowledge sharing.

Our requirements

• Proven experience in designing, implementing, and maintaining database solutions within complex technology projects.
• Strong hands-on experience with DB2 and the underlying database infrastructure.
• Experience in production support and database release management.
• Knowledge of database design, high-availability solutions, replication, and data migration.
• Practical experience with DB2 security mechanisms, including RACF/ACF2, and access authority management.
• Ability to translate business and functional requirements into technical specifications.
• Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to identify and resolve complex technical issues.
• Experience identifying process improvements and implementing automation solutions.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly.
• Strong collaboration skills and the ability to work effectively with global teams and stakeholders.
• Ability to apply technical standards and best practices in a diverse, international environment.

Optional

• Experience in the banking or financial services sector.
• Experience working in a technical architecture role on large-scale, complex projects.
• Background in process optimization and automation of repetitive IT operations.
