Role description

• Build, test, release, and support Java microservices and related components for product areas/services.

• Contribute to solution design for Java microservices and integration patterns, aligning with target architecture and non-functional requirements.

• Identify and resolve technical risks, dependencies, and delivery blockers with partners.

• Follow and contribute to engineering standards: coding practices, branching strategy, CI/CD quality gates, test strategy, and definition of done.

• Deliver robust unit, integration, and contract testing with measurable coverage and quality outcomes.

• Participate in technical reviews (design, code, security) and remediate findings promptly.

• Use AI-assisted tooling (e.g., Copilot) responsibly to accelerate delivery while maintaining code quality, IP controls, and security.

• Apply guardrails for AI-generated code: strong review discipline, secure coding checks, traceability, and auditability.

• Use GenAI techniques (e.g., LLM-assisted development, prompt engineering, validation approaches) and follow agreed governance.

• Embed security-by-design: secure coding, vulnerability management, secrets handling, and compliance with internal controls.

• Build production-ready services: observability (logs/metrics/traces), performance testing support, and incident readiness.

• Support release activities and smooth cutovers, including integration and environment readiness.

• Collaborate with Tech Leads, engineers, testers, architects, platform teams, QA, SRE/operations, and system owners to deliver integrated outcomes.

Requirements

• 4–8 years of strong hands-on experience building Java microservices (e.g., Spring Boot) in enterprise environments.

• Solid experience with RDBMS (e.g., Oracle/PostgreSQL), including schema design, performance tuning, and transactional integrity.

• Strong unit and integration testing practices (e.g., JUnit, Mockito, Testcontainers, API/contract testing).

• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and quality gates (e.g., Jenkins/GitLab, Sonar, SAST/DAST, dependency scanning).

• Good understanding of integration patterns (REST, messaging/eventing), API design, and versioning strategies.

• Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (GCP).

• Practical exposure to GenAI concepts and tools (LLMs, RAG/agent patterns, governance/controls).

• Experience contributing to technical design and making pragmatic trade-offs under delivery pressure.
