While the role includes people management responsibilities, its primary focus is delivery performance and execution. You will lead a team of IT professionals, with full accountability for managing priorities, risks, dependencies, and execution across the development lifecycle, in close collaboration with demanding stakeholders and senior leadership. • proactively identifying risks and communicating issues early, together with mitigation plans

• maintaining strong understanding of development processes (environments, releases, dependencies, CI/CD, testing flows)

• operating effectively in an environment with high expectations

• supporting team members in achieving delivery goals, while prioritizing project outcomes when trade-offs are required

• fostering a collaborative, performance-driven and ownership-oriented culture within the team

• promoting the use of standard tools, frameworks, and best practices, and supporting resource planning to ensure the availability of the right skills across the project portfolio

• leading and developing team members, supporting the professional growth and development of employees in a global environment by encouraging continuous learning, knowledge sharing, coaching, and cross-location collaboration to build sustainable delivery capabilities

• this role is based in Warsaw but occasional travels are expected

Skills and experience you will need

• fluency in English

• strong practical understanding of the software development lifecycle and delivery mechanics

• understanding of the insurance industry, including core processes, products, sales channels, and business models

• proven experience in leading development or delivery teams with direct accountability for meeting deadlines

• experience working in digital / online sales environments (e-commerce, self-service platforms, customer-facing digital journeys) is a strong advantage

• ability to work under pressure and manage conflicting priorities

• strong ownership mindset and proactive communication style

• excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with a service-oriented approach toward internal and external partners

• ability to independently manage topics without close supervision

• strong prioritization and risk management skills
