About the role

Are you a Python expert who enjoys building robust backend systems while contributing to modern frontend applications?

We’re looking for a Senior Python Fullstack Developer to join an international engineering team developing modern web applications in the Agriculture & Life Sciences sector.

This is a backend-focused role, where strong expertise in Python and FastAPI is essential. You’ll design and develop scalable services, APIs, and integrations, while also contributing to the frontend using React. Advanced frontend expertise isn’t required, but solid commercial React experience is a must.

You’ll work alongside experienced engineers and cross-functional teams, helping deliver reliable, high-quality applications and data-driven solutions in a collaborative international environment.

Your responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable web applications using Python and FastAPI.

• Build and maintain REST APIs, backend services, and controllers.

• Develop database connectivity and integration modules using SQLAlchemy or similar ORM technologies.

• Work with both relational and NoSQL databases.

• Develop and maintain frontend components using React.

• Write clean, maintainable, efficient, and well-tested code.

• Create and maintain unit and integration tests.

• Participate in CI/CD processes and support automated delivery pipelines.

• Troubleshoot technical issues and optimize application performance.

• Collaborate with backend and frontend engineers, product teams, and other stakeholders.

• Contribute to technical discussions and apply software engineering best practices.

What you’ll bring

• Strong commercial experience with Python.

• Strong hands-on experience with FastAPI.

• Excellent understanding of Python fundamentals, including data structures, algorithms, and time and space complexity.

• Solid knowledge of REST API design and development.

• Experience working with relational and NoSQL databases.

• Practical experience with SQLAlchemy or a comparable ORM.

• Good understanding of CI/CD processes.

• Experience writing and maintaining unit tests and automated tests.

• Commercial experience with React.

• Working knowledge of JavaScript and TypeScript.

• Good command of English.

• The ability to work independently, take ownership of tasks, and make sound technical decisions.

Nice to have

Experience with some of the following technologies and concepts will be an advantage:

• React Query

• Jest or Cypress

• Material UI

• Cross-browser development

• Browser rendering and performance optimization
