About

We are looking for a Senior Data Engineer to join a diverse, product-minded team and support an important data transformation project.

This is a 3–4 month full-time project focused on transforming an existing backend — currently largely based on multiple Google Spreadsheets — into a stable and scalable Data Warehouse solution.

The role is highly hands-on and combines data engineering, data modelling and pipeline development with a high level of ownership and close collaboration with Finance and Operations teams.

Our data platform runs on Google Cloud Platform, with BigQuery as the data warehouse and dbt as the core transformation framework.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain scalable and efficient data pipelines using DBT, Fivetran, and Metabase. Experience with similar modern data stack technologies is also valued.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements and deliver solutions that align with business needs.

• Develop and maintain ELT workflows to extract, load, and transform data from diverse sources into a centralized cloud data warehouse.

• Implement and maintain robust dimensional models, staging layers, marts and transformation logic following best practices.

• Partner with stakeholders to understand data workflows and provide technical support.

• Monitor, troubleshoot and resolve data-related issues.

• Build and improve a modern development environment and CI/CD system to ensure scalable and reliable data delivery.

• Ingest data from various external systems via APIs

What you bring

• 5+ years of experience in Data Engineering

• Strong proficiency in SQL, particularly with DBT or similar frameworks; experience with Python is a plus

• Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform and BigQuery

• Experience with Fivetran or a very similar modern data integration tool

• Strong experience working with cloud-based Data Warehouses

• Strong knowledge of data modelling and designing efficient database schemas

• Experience building and maintaining scalable ELT / data pipelines

• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills

• Ability to work closely with cross-functional teams

• Ability to explain technical topics clearly to non-technical stakeholders

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

• High level of independence and ownership

• Proficiency in Terraform and GitHub Actions (nice-to-have).
