We are supporting a new, independently operated AI startup backed by a profitable international technology group and an initial investment of USD 100 million.

The company is building a small, world-class team of approximately 15 people and developing a global voice and text AI assistant. The product will go beyond answering questions: it will maintain persistent context, connect with external tools and complete long-running, multi-step tasks related to communication, email, organisation and everyday workflows.

This is a founding-stage opportunity with real influence over the product and technical direction.

Your role

As an Applied AI Engineer, you will turn model capabilities into reliable product behaviour and take ownership from the initial idea through implementation, deployment, evaluation and production maintenance.

You will:

• build and ship production-grade AI features end to end,

• design LLM agents, prompts, tools and multi-step workflows,

• develop tool-calling and external service integrations,

• work with persistent memory, context management and RAG,

• create evaluation frameworks and measure real-world quality,

• improve reliability through validation, fallbacks and recovery mechanisms,

• optimise inference for quality, latency, cost and performance,

• monitor and debug systems in production.

This is not a pure research, prompt-only or standard backend role. It combines Applied AI, production software engineering and product ownership.

Technology

The core language is Python. The broader stack may include:

• LLMs and generative AI

• AI agents and workflow orchestration

• RAG and vector databases

• PyTorch and/or JAX

• Llama, Qwen and other open-source models

• vLLM and model-serving technologies

• evaluation, observability and cloud tooling

You do not need experience with every technology listed. Strong engineering fundamentals and evidence of building useful AI systems matter more than one particular framework.

What we are looking for

You may come from Applied AI, Machine Learning, Software Engineering, Backend Engineering or ML Systems.

You could be a strong match if you:

• have built and shipped LLM, agentic or AI-powered systems,

• are highly proficient in Python,

• understand production reliability, evaluation, latency and cost,

• can work independently in an ambiguous, early-stage environment,

• enjoy taking end-to-end ownership rather than focusing on only one technical layer.
