Test Manager 

We are looking for a Test Manager to join an international retail technology company rolling out a new store platform across Europe. The platform brings payments, checkout, back-office operations, and edge computing together into one connected system. It is being built by in-house engineers alongside external delivery partners, both onshore and offshore, and has to pass integration, end-to-end, performance, security, and acceptance testing before each go-live.

Requirements:

• 5+ years of experience as a Test Manager

• Strong understanding of software testing principles and best practices

• Advanced knowledge of Atlassian tools, including Jira and Confluence

• Proven experience on global, cross-functional, enterprise-scale retail technology projects

• Experience working with third-party onshore and offshore development partners

• Hands-on experience in test automation, including designing, building, and maintaining automated test frameworks and scripts (e.g., Selenium, Playwright, Cypress) and integrating them into CI/CD pipelines

• Solid knowledge of the software development lifecycle

• Knowledge of application integration principles and standards

• Knowledge of Agile methodology and practices

• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office tools, including Project, Visio, Word, and Excel

• Experience leading local and distributed teams, including setting priorities, assigning work, and monitoring delivery

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent professional experience

Nice to have: 

• ITIL certification

• Certified ScrumMaster (CSM) certification

• PMP certification

Responsibilities:

• Define the testing strategy, roadmap, and approach for the European rollout

• Coordinate testing with regional product managers, in-house developers and third-party technical teams

• Define entry and exit criteria for each test phase and make sure they are met before work moves on

• Track and report progress across product, integration, end-to-end, performance, security and user acceptance testing

• Produce a weekly testing status report for the European programme

• Collect approvals from the European team and contribute to go/no-go decisions on testing and deployment

• Oversee release management and version control for each test environment, including release contents, deployment windows and environment maintenance

• Keep test environments ready and stable, and clear any equipment or environment blockers

• Communicate deployments, release notes, hotfixes and outages to leadership, partners, test leads and developers so they can plan re-testing

• Keep testing progress and environment status up to date in Jira

• Maintain test environment diagrams, data diagrams and other programme testing documentation

• Lead a team of Test Analysts, making sure plans are carried out, tests are executed, and results are reported
