Software Engineer 2 - .NET - Allegro Klik/Care

Allegro Pay is Central Europe's largest and fastest growing fintech - the only place where financial solutions can be created on such a large scale, using state-of-the-art technology. We work on purchase financing and payment methods that are used daily by customers of Allegro, the most popular shopping platform in Poland and one of the largest e-commerce companies in Europe. Due to this scale, we have the opportunity to work on one of the most exciting purchase financing and payment solutions in our country. We are looking for talented people who want to create powerful and stable solutions to support a product with over a dozen million active users.

The role

We're looking for a Software Engineer with solid, proven experience in .NET and backend development to join a cross-functional team focused mainly on greenfield projects — building new products and features from the ground up. You'll take ownership of designing and delivering seamless, end-to-end customer journeys — from opening a bank account and activating a fast payment method directly within the Allegro app, through funding the account, to authorizing payments and rewarding customers with cashback, all in just a few taps. Alongside building new features, you'll drive improvements in system performance, scalability, and reliability, and help raise the quality and maintainability of our codebase. You'll work closely with product, design, and business stakeholders, translating ideas into robust technical solutions, and collaborate with and support less experienced teammates as the team grows.

Our team builds and scales two products:

• Allegro Klik - lets Allegro users link an existing bank account or open a new one directly within the Allegro app for instant payments with cashback. We own the full flow: account linking and opening, payment processing, top-ups, cashback calculation and cashback-driven promotional campaigns.

• Allegro Care - insurance offered directly in the Allegro shopping experience, letting customers protect their purchases (e.g. against damage, theft, or with extended warranty) right at checkout, with policy management handled seamlessly within the platform.

Both products are growing fast, with new initiatives launched continuously alongside scaling of our existing systems.

Important things for you:

• Flexible working hours in the hybrid model (4/1) - working hours start between 7:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. We also have 30 days of occasional remote work.

• The salary range for this position depending on the skill set is as follows (contract of employment, tax-deductible cost):

  • PLN gross 14 600 - 20 825

  • Annual bonus based on your annual performance and company results.

• Our team is based in Warsaw and Poznań.

Here's why you should join us:

• AI-Adoption strategy: we invest a lot of effort to upskill our specialists and equip them with the newest AI coding technologies like Copilot or OpenCode.

• Big Scale: immerse yourself in the exciting world of Allegro Pay, where your .NET skills will tackle challenges on a large scale. You'll be contributing to financial solutions that affect over 2.5 million people (handling 60+ million requests daily and managing dozens of terabytes of data).

• Engineering Maturity: Join a culture that mirrors the top tech giants. Our commitment to engineering excellence and maturity puts us on par with industry leaders like FAANG companies. (11 of 12 in Pragmatic Engineer Score)

• Best-in-Class Expertise: Work alongside the best experts in the field, collaborating to push the boundaries of what's possible in FinTech. Our team includes MVPs and many conference speakers.

• Impactful Products: Imagine this – your work at Allegro Pay contributes to creating products that you, your family, and friends might already use daily. See the direct impact of your efforts on the FinTech landscape (with 120+ deployments per month).

We are looking for people who:

• Have solid, hands-on experience with .NET and backend development, and are ready to apply it on production-grade systems

• Have practical experience with distributed systems and microservices; exposure to partner APIs is a plus

• Are comfortable working with cloud infrastructure (preferably Azure)

• Want to be proud of the code they create; value high-quality code reviews and engage in substantive discussions on software engineering best practices

• Are eager to understand the broader business context and communicate effectively with internal clients

• Demonstrate a high sense of responsibility and resilience, as you will be working with critical financial data

• Are enthusiastic about AI and are open to actively incorporating AI coding assistants (such as GitHub Copilot) into their daily work to maximize efficiency and focus on complex problem-solving

• Can independently design and deliver effective solutions to the requirements set by business stakeholders, taking full ownership of the features they build from start to finish

• Are committed to continuous learning, open to constructive feedback, and embrace a growth mindset through active participation in code reviews, backlog grooming, team discussions and retrospectives

• Collaborate effectively within a team, share knowledge, and are willing to support less experienced teammates as the team grows

• Speak fluent Polish (essential for daily communication with internal and partner stakeholders) and communicative English (at least B2 level)

What's in it for you:

• Well-located offices (with e.g. fully equipped kitchens, bicycle parking, terraces full of greenery) and excellent work tools (e.g., raised desks, ergonomic chairs, interactive conference rooms).

• A 16" or 14" MacBook Pro or corresponding Dell with Windows (if you don't like Macs) and all the necessary accessories.

• A wide selection of fringe benefits in a cafeteria plan - you choose what you like (e.g., medical, sports or lunch packages, insurance, purchase vouchers).

• English classes that we pay for related to the specific nature of your job.

• A training budget, inter-team tourism (see more here), hackathons, and an internal learning platform where you will find multiple trainings.

• An additional day off for volunteering, which you can use alone, with a team, or with a larger group of people connected by a common goal.

• Social events for Allegro people - Spin Kilometers, Family Day, Fat Thursday, Advent of Code, and many other occasions we enjoy.

And that's just the beginning! You can read more about the benefits here.

#goodtobehere means that:

• You will join a team you can count on - we work with top-class specialists who have knowledge- and experience-sharing in their DNA.

• You will love our level of autonomy in team organization, the space for continuous development, and the opportunity to try new things. You get to choose which technology solves the problem and you are responsible for what you create.

• You will value our Developer Experience and the full platform of tools and technologies that make creating software easier. We rely on an internal ecosystem based on self-service and widely used tools such as Kubernetes, Docker, Consul, GitHub, and GitHub Actions. Thanks to this, you can contribute to Allegro from your very first days on the job.

• You will be equipped with modern AI tools to automate repetitive tasks, allowing you to focus on developing new services and refining existing ones (also leveraging AI support).

• You will create solutions that will be used (and loved!) by your friends, family and millions of our customers.

• You will meet the Allegro Scale, which starts with over 1000 microservices, an open-source data bus (Hermes) with 300k+ rps, a Service Mesh with 1M+ rps, tens of petabytes of data, and production-used machine learning.

• You will become part of Allegro Tech - We speak at industry conferences, cooperate with tech communities, run our own blog (it's been over 10 years!), record podcasts, lead guilds, and we organize our own internal conference - the Allegro Tech Meeting. We create solutions we love (and can) to talk about!

Send us your CV and... see you at Allegro!
