SAP Senior MM Functional Consultant

Job Description

As an SAP-focused IT consulting company, we support businesses throughout their SAP journey, from system operations and authorizations to S/4HANA migrations, integration and cloud transformation. 

We are looking for a Senior SAP MM Functional Consultant to support international SAP transformation programs. You will own the design and delivery of procurement, inventory, material valuation and invoice-verification solutions, aligning them with enterprise architecture, internal controls and operational objectives. 

Working with business and technology stakeholders, you will guide delivery from requirements and configuration through testing, go-live and stabilisation. 

Your Responsibilities 

• Lead SAP MM solution design across source-to-pay, purchasing, inventory, valuation and invoice verification, applying fit-to-standard principles. 

• Facilitate workshops, document requirements and configure organisational structures, purchasing documents, workflows, account determination, valuation and inventory processes. 

• Ensure integration with FI/CO, SD, PP, QM, WM/EWM, Ariba, master data, analytics and third-party solutions. 

• Lead the MM workstream, estimate effort, manage risks and dependencies, and communicate status, decisions and recommendations. 

• Define test coverage, coordinate functional and integration testing, and drive defect resolution and business acceptance. 

• Lead data validation, cutover, training, go-live readiness, hypercare and transition to support. 

• Resolve complex incidents through root-cause analysis, strengthen controls and recommend process improvements and automation. 

• Maintain functional specifications, configuration records, process flows, test assets, training materials and operating procedures. 

• Mentor consultants and key users, promote reusable standards and support knowledge transfer. 

Your Profile 

• At least 5 years of SAP MM consulting experience, including senior responsibility within complex programmes. 

• Experience delivering at least two full SAP implementation lifecycles, from design through stabilisation. 

• Expert knowledge of procurement, inventory management, material master, valuation, account determination and invoice verification. 

• Strong SAP S/4HANA knowledge, including Fiori-enabled processes, workflows, Business Partner integration and MM simplifications. 

• Proven integration experience across FI/CO, SD, PP, QM, WM/EWM and external procurement or logistics platforms. 

• Experience producing functional and configuration documentation, process flows, test assets, training materials and operating procedures. 

• Working knowledge of data migration, cutover, reconciliation, and incident, change and release management. 

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, workshop facilitation and stakeholder-management skills, including communication with business, audit, security and technical teams. 

• A structured, detail-oriented and customer-focused approach, with the ability to work independently and across international teams. 

• Excellent written and spoken English. 

• A relevant degree in business administration, supply chain, IT or engineering, or equivalent practical experience. 

Nice to Have 

• SAP S/4HANA Sourcing and Procurement certification or a related qualification. 

• Experience with SAP Activate, agile delivery, fit-to-standard workshops and global template governance. 

• Knowledge of SAP Ariba, Business Network, Central Procurement, MDG, EWM or adjacent supply-chain solutions. 

• Experience with international rollouts, localisation, shared services, regulated industries or multi-company environments. 

• Understanding of procurement controls, segregation of duties and audit requirements, alongside interfaces, APIs, IDocs, enhancements and authorisations. 

• Experience leading distributed teams, managing delivery partners, coaching consultants or using embedded or enterprise analytics. 

• Command of German is an advantage.
