Our client, a provider in the financial services industry, is preparing its booking processing system for production. The system must handle very high transaction volumes reliably. We are looking for experienced DevOps engineers who know proven industry best practices and can apply them to establish production readiness at scale.

Scope of the Role:

Scalability & Performance

• Capacity planning

• Horizontal scaling and autoscaling

• Performance tuning

• Load and stress testing against throughput targets

Observability & Alerting

• Golden-signal metrics

• Centralized logging

• Distributed tracing, dashboards, alerting and runbooks

Messaging Reliability

• Partitioning and consumer design

• Retry/DLQ

• Idempotency

• Schema governance

• Backpressure

Data, Backup & Disaster Recovery

• Backup/restore incl:

• Regular tests

• Replication/sharding

• RPO/RTO

• DR playbooks and exercises

Release & Deployment

• CI/CD with quality gates, canary/blue-green

• Automated rollback

• Feature flags

• Container orchestration (Kubernetes/Cloud Foundry)

SRE Governance

• SLI/SLO and error budgets

• Incident response

• On-call

• Postmortems

• Reliability by design

The initial focus will be on Kafka and MongoDB, with further topics following.

Requirements:

• Proven track record of bringing distributed, event-driven, high-throughput systems into production

• Solid knowledge of DevOps/SRE best practices and the ability to translate them into concrete, pragmatic solutions

• Production experience with Kafka and MongoDB

• Fluent English

• German is an advantage

• Can start ASAP
