About the role

We are looking for a Senior Fullstack Engineer with strong React and TypeScript experience who enjoys building complex applications that go far beyond forms, dashboards, and standard API integrations.

At cerebre, you will work across the application stack, with a strong focus on the frontend, where users explore, understand, and interact with complex industrial information.

You will work on a large React and TypeScript application with interconnected modules, rich user interactions, complex application state, non-trivial business logic, and data that often has relationships and structure beyond simple lists and tables.

A meaningful part of the work involves understanding how data is represented and processed across the system. Depending on the problem, this may include graphs, trees, matrices, hierarchical structures, spatial relationships, or multidimensional data.

This is complex application development rather than website development.

We are looking for someone who is comfortable going deeper than the framework layer and who can reason about how data structures, algorithms, APIs, backend services, performance, and architecture affect the behavior of the application.

You do not need to be a mathematician or algorithm specialist. We are looking for an experienced engineer who has worked with technically complex products and is comfortable moving across frontend, backend, and data boundaries when solving a problem.

You will collaborate closely with frontend and backend engineers, Product, and Design. We do not have dedicated architects in our teams, so engineers are expected to actively participate in technical decisions, identify risks, propose solutions, and take ownership of their areas.

What you will work on

• You will help us build and evolve a mature enterprise application used by customers in the industrial world.

• Your work may include:

• Building highly interactive interfaces with complex state, logic, and dependencies

• Working with structured and interconnected engineering data

• Translating complex domain models into understandable application behavior

• Handling asynchronous processes and data coming from multiple services

• Collaborating on API design, data models, and frontend/backend boundaries

• Solving performance problems related to large or complex datasets

• Working with relationships between entities rather than only flat collections of data

• Designing how data should be represented and transformed across the application

• Extending existing functionality without breaking other interconnected parts of the product

• Investigating problems where requirements or solutions are not fully defined

• Contributing to technical and architectural decisions

Responsibilities

• Build and evolve complex functionality in a large React and TypeScript application

• Develop highly interactive application interfaces with complex user interactions, state, logic, and dependencies

• Work with structured, hierarchical, interconnected, and multidimensional data

• Implement logic for navigating, transforming, filtering, grouping, and connecting data

• Work across frontend and backend boundaries when needed to deliver complete solutions

• Collaborate on APIs, data models, integrations, and system boundaries

• Understand how data representation impacts application architecture and behavior

• Consider performance, memory usage, scalability, and computational cost when working with complex data

• Build new functionality while maintaining and improving features already used by customers

• Work with asynchronous processes, backend services, APIs, and data flows

• Understand the broader impact of changes across interconnected areas of the product

• Collaborate closely with frontend and backend engineers on technical solutions

• Work with Product and Design to shape solutions, not only execute predefined tasks

• Investigate problems, gather missing information, and propose solutions when requirements are incomplete

• Participate in architectural and technical decisions

• Take ownership of problems from initial investigation through implementation and delivery

• Write clean, maintainable, production-ready code

Required Skills

• 7+ years of professional software development experience

• Strong commercial experience with React and TypeScript

• Strong JavaScript fundamentals

• Proven experience building and maintaining large, complex web applications

• Experience building application interfaces involving complex state, business logic, asynchronous behavior, and dependencies between features

• Experience working with large existing codebases where changes may affect multiple areas of the product

• Experience working across frontend and backend boundaries, including APIs, data modelling, integrations, or application architecture

• Experience integrating frontend applications with backend services and APIs

• Practical experience working with non-trivial structured or interconnected data, such as: trees, graphs, matrices, hierarchical data, spatial data, multidimensional data, other relationship-heavy structures

• Ability to explain how data was represented, transformed, and used within the application

• Experience solving problems where data representation influenced the implementation, architecture, or performance of the solution

• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills

• Ability to reason about performance when processing larger or more complex datasets

• Ability to work independently when requirements are not fully defined

• Ability to ask questions, gather missing information, and proactively move work forward

• Strong collaboration and communication skills

• At least B2 English level

Preferred Skills

• Experience solving algorithmic or data structure related problems

• Experience with graph traversal, tree traversal, shortest path, or similar problems

• Experience with matrix operations or multidimensional data processing

• Experience working with large datasets or performance-sensitive data processing

• Experience with diagrams, editors, workflow systems, maps, CAD-like applications, or other interfaces built around interconnected data

• Experience with interactive visualization using D3.js, PixiJS, SVG, Canvas, or WebGL

• Stronger commercial backend development experience

• Experience with .NET / C#

• Understanding of backend concepts such as authentication, databases, API design, data modelling, and distributed systems

• Experience working with mature products containing legacy functionality and complex dependencies

• Experience working in a product company over a longer period of time

• Experience with products used by multiple customers or user groups

• Experience with GitLab and CI/CD

• Experience working in a fast-changing R&D or product environment

What makes this role different
This is not a typical fullstack role where frontend and backend are two separate sets of implementation tasks.
You will work on problems where the shape of the data and the interaction between different parts of the system matter.
Sometimes the challenge will be the interface. Sometimes state management. Sometimes an API or data model. Sometimes performance. And sometimes understanding how a graph, tree, matrix, or another structure should be represented and processed so that the entire application remains scalable, understandable, and responsive.
