Senior IT Project Manager – Data Quality Governance

We are looking for an experienced Senior IT Project Manager to join a long-term project within the data management area of a large international financial organization.

This is not a typical delivery PM role. The position combines IT Project Management with Data Quality Governance, with a strong focus on managing data quality issues, coordinating multiple teams, prioritizing the backlog, driving Root Cause Analysis, and ensuring effective issue resolution.

Responsibilities:

• Own and coordinate the Data Quality Governance / Data Quality Issue Management process,

• Run triage meetings and coordinate activities across multiple teams and domains,

• Manage and prioritize the data quality issue backlog,

• Monitor ticket ownership, progress, dependencies, and resolution,

• Drive Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and ensure identified issues are followed through to closure,

• Manage priorities, risks, dependencies, and escalations,

• Drive accountability across involved teams and stakeholders,

• Identify and implement structural process improvements,

• Improve intake, prioritization, issue clustering, and closure processes,

• Identify opportunities for process automation,

• Prepare transparent management reporting on progress, risks, ownership, and backlog,

• Cooperate with multiple business, data, and technology stakeholders.

Requirements:

• Minimum 5 years of professional experience, including experience in IT Project Management,

• Practical experience in Data Quality, Data Governance, or Data Quality Issue Management,

• Experience in owning or coordinating governance processes rather than only participating in them,

• Experience in backlog and triage management,

• Practical experience with Root Cause Analysis (RCA),

• Strong stakeholder management skills and experience coordinating multiple teams or domains,

• Experience in prioritization, dependency management, and escalation,

• Experience in management-level reporting,

• Strong ownership and ability to drive accountability across teams,

• Very good command of English.

Nice to have:

• Experience in the banking or financial sector,

• Knowledge of Data Management / Data Warehouse environments,

• Experience working in Agile / SAFe environments.
