Role Overview

We are looking for someone to own speech data sourcing in a project for an EU-based company developing advanced speech processing for embedded systems. The role combines technical skills with vendor and data quality management.

Occasional business trips of 3–5 days may be required, especially at the start of the project.

Responsibilities

• Owning the end-to-end speech data sourcing process

• Managing vendors: selection, negotiation, and delivery oversight

• Defining recording protocols and acceptance criteria

• Managing data acquisition budgets

• Performing quality control of delivered data

• Building and maintaining audio and metadata pipelines in Python

• Versioning datasets

• Ensuring compliance with consent/licensing requirements and GDPR for biometric data

Requirements

• Experience working with audio/speech data

• Strong Python skills

• Experience building data pipelines

• Familiarity with dataset versioning tools and practices

• Knowledge of GDPR, particularly regarding biometric data

• Experience working with external vendors

• Fluent English

Nice to have

• Experience managing project budgets

• Understanding of data licensing for ML model training
