The Mission

West Code is looking for experienced Data Scientists interested in developing predictive models and solving complex analytical problems using data, statistics and machine learning.

We are particularly interested in people who combine strong analytical thinking with practical experience building models that support real business decisions.

Depending on the project, you may work on sports analytics, probability estimation, dynamic pricing, financial data analysis or other data-driven products.

What You’ll Work On

• developing and improving predictive models

• analysing large and complex datasets

• feature engineering and data preparation

• statistical modelling and probability estimation

• building machine learning models for real-world applications

• evaluating and improving model accuracy

• model validation, testing and performance monitoring

• exploring relationships and patterns in historical and real-time data

• collaborating with Data Engineers, Software Engineers and business teams

• supporting the deployment of analytical models into production environments

Technology

We are particularly interested in specialists working with:

• Python

• pandas, NumPy and SciPy

• scikit-learn

• SQL

• XGBoost, LightGBM or similar ML frameworks

• PyTorch or TensorFlow

• statistical modelling and probability theory

• cloud platforms and modern data environments

You don't need experience with every technology listed above. Strong foundations in statistics, analytical thinking and practical model development matter most.

Must Have:

• 4+ years of experience in Data Science, predictive analytics or applied machine learning.

• Strong Python skills (pandas, NumPy, scikit-learn).

• Solid understanding of statistical modelling, regression, classification and tree-based models.

• Experience working with complex structured/tabular datasets.

• Ability to evaluate, validate and improve predictive model performance.

• Experience developing models intended for production environments.

Nice to Have:

• Experience with sports analytics, betting, gaming or financial modelling.

• Monte Carlo simulations, probabilistic modelling or time-series forecasting.

• XGBoost, LightGBM or similar frameworks.

• Performance optimization in Python.

• Experience working with historical event data and automated model testing.

B2B Rate

150–220 PLN/h + VAT

Final rate depends on seniority, modelling expertise, domain experience and project scope.
