About the project

This is a senior hands-on engineering role involving software development, technical analysis, production support, defect resolution and application enhancement.

The successful candidate will work across application code, data flows, interfaces and infrastructure dependencies, collaborating with business, technology, vendor and support teams to ensure platform stability and resilience.

The role combines software engineering, application support and business delivery. It requires a technically strong, proactive engineer who can investigate complex issues, deliver enhancements and support releases, including outside standard working hours when required.

This role is part of a global IT team that is supporting global IT initiatives. The hiring manager requires CVs in English, please.

Your responsibilities

• Deliver software enhancements, fixes, releases and production support activities.
• Analyse, design, build, test and support application changes, ensuring quality, maintainability, performance and operational stability.
• Troubleshoot complex application and data issues, identify root causes and drive resolution.
• Work across application logic, configuration, data flows, Azure-hosted components, infrastructure dependencies, MoveIT processes, connectors, adaptors and batch processing.
• Translate business requirements and support issues into technical solutions, development tasks, estimates and implementation plans.
• Investigate and resolve production incidents, recurring defects, data issues and service interruptions.
• Support release readiness, testing, defect triage, deployment and post-release validation.
• Collaborate with developers, QA, infrastructure, support teams, vendors and business stakeholders, including US-based teams.
• Assess technical debt, identify operational risks and improve application stability and resilience.
• Maintain technical documentation, support procedures, runbooks, release documentation and knowledge transfer materials.
• Track progress, risks, dependencies and decisions, escalating issues proactively with practical recommendations.
• Support knowledge transfer and reduce reliance on individual knowledge holders.
• Work flexibly to support US business hours, late calls, releases and critical incidents when required.

Our requirements

• Significant experience as a Senior Software Engineer, Senior Application Developer, Software Developer, Application Engineer or in a similar role supporting business-critical enterprise applications.
• Hands-on technical expertise in C#/.NET, SQL/T-SQL and Microsoft SQL Server.
• Experience with Azure-hosted services, infrastructure concepts, batch processing and file-based interfaces.
• Knowledge of MoveIT or equivalent managed file transfer solutions.
• Experience with REST/SOAP APIs, XML/JSON, Git/Azure DevOps and CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience in environment management, release deployment and production troubleshooting.
• Proven ability to deliver application enhancements, defect remediation, technical analysis and production support.
• Strong documentation skills, including technical notes, runbooks, support procedures and release documentation.
• Excellent stakeholder management skills and the ability to explain technical issues in clear business language.
• Ability to work with US-based stakeholders and support US operations outside standard working hours when required.
• A Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, Business Systems or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.

Optional

• Experience supporting financial services, fund administration, asset servicing, transfer agency, investor services or other regulated operational environments is highly desirable.
