Role Overview

We are looking for a highly experienced Senior DevOps Engineer with strong Java knowledge to join our team in Kraków. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in DevOps engineering, Azure cloud operations, CI/CD automation, container orchestration, and production troubleshooting, along with the ability to understand, debug, and work with Java applications.

The role involves working across modern cloud-native technologies and legacy systems to improve deployment efficiency, system reliability, scalability, and security. The successful candidate should be comfortable collaborating with development and operations teams, automating complex processes, and resolving issues across distributed environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain robust CI/CD pipelines to support reliable application delivery to Microsoft Azure.

• Automate the deployment, configuration, monitoring, and scaling of applications using Azure App Services, Azure SQL, Kubernetes, and Docker.

• Manage and optimize workloads across Unix/Linux environments using Shell/Bash scripting.

• Develop and maintain Python scripts and automation tools to streamline DevOps processes and operational activities.

• Implement and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions for consistent and repeatable infrastructure provisioning.

• Monitor application and infrastructure performance, troubleshoot production issues, and perform root-cause analysis.

• Support Java-based applications by reviewing code, debugging application issues, and collaborating with development teams when required.

• Ensure the reliability, availability, performance, and security of applications and infrastructure.

• Work with monitoring and logging solutions to improve observability and incident response.

• Participate in code reviews, technical discussions, and knowledge-sharing activities.

• Support and improve existing systems, including legacy applications and modern cloud-based platforms.

Mandatory Requirements

• 10+ years of overall IT experience, with substantial hands-on experience in DevOps, SRE, cloud engineering, or a related technical role.

• Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure, including application deployment, cloud infrastructure, and monitoring.

• Solid understanding of DevOps principles, CI/CD pipelines, automation, and Infrastructure as Code.

• Practical experience with IaC tools such as Terraform, ARM templates, Bicep, or equivalent technologies.

• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes and Docker for containerization, orchestration, and application deployment.

• Strong knowledge of Unix/Linux operating systems and Shell/Bash scripting.

• Good proficiency in Python for automation, scripting, and tooling.

• Working proficiency in Java, preferably Java 8, 11, or 17, with the ability to understand and debug application code.

• Experience with Git and CI/CD tools such as Azure DevOps or Jenkins.

• Strong troubleshooting, debugging, and root-cause analysis skills in complex or distributed environments.

• Understanding of application performance, system reliability, security, and production support practices.

• Ability to work collaboratively with development, testing, infrastructure, and operations teams.

• Availability to work from the Kraków office three days per week.

Nice to Have

• Experience with configuration-management tools such as Ansible.

• Experience with monitoring and logging platforms such as Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack, or Azure Monitor.

• Exposure to Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) practices, incident management, and service reliability improvements.

• Experience supporting legacy Java applications alongside modern cloud-native architectures.

• Knowledge of application performance tuning and distributed-system troubleshooting.
