Software Engineer (Kotlin Multiplatform)

At Miquido, AI isn't a gadget bolted onto the process — it's the bet we've built the company around.

Before Gutenberg, every book was copied out by hand — a scribe bent over a desk for months to make a single copy. The printing press didn't end careful work with words; it just took the mind-numbing copying off the human and handed it to the machine, so people could spend themselves on what the words actually said.

For us, AI is that press for software engineering: agents take the repetitive implementation, you spend your attention on the architecture, product decisions, and the problems that actually matter.

What you'll do

• Build real mobile apps — the kind that ship to the App Store and Google Play and land on people's phones, running on Android and iOS from one shared Kotlin codebase. Not prototypes that die in a drawer.

• Work with the most modern AI engineering tooling out there — and expect it to shift month to month. We'll keep handing you new things and asking you to put them to the test.

• Help build products people actually use, working shoulder to shoulder with engineers, designers, product managers, and clients — making technical decisions together instead of simply implementing tickets.

What you should bring

• Real curiosity. You try new tools before anyone tells you to, you follow where mobile development and AI are heading, and you enjoy figuring out how things work. Plus enough English — min. B2 — to work with our clients.

• Strong engineering fundamentals: OOP, functional programming, design patterns, clean architecture (MVVM, MVI), and the habit of writing clean, maintainable code you'll still be proud of six months later.

• Commercial Android/Kotlin experience together with hands-on Kotlin Multiplatform development, solid knowledge of Coroutines and KMP concepts like expect/actual.

• Experience with Compose Multiplatform or Jetpack Compose together with SwiftUI, plus enough Swift and Xcode to work comfortably at the platform boundary.

• Familiarity with KMP libraries such as Ktor, Koin, SQLDelight/Room, together with Android Studio, Gradle and Git.

• Real fluency using modern AI engineering tools — Claude Code, Codex, Cursor or similar — to generate, review and improve code, plus the habit of keeping up as the ecosystem changes every month. This isn't a "nice to have" for us; it's simply how we build software.

How we actually work (AI-first)

• Agentic coding is our default — Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, whatever's best that week. This is genuinely how we build software, not a box we tick to sound current.

• We're a company that keeps experimenting. No processes carved in stone — we assume the ground keeps shifting, so we try things, measure them, and keep what works.

• Lately we work a lot in small, tight teams: 3 to 5 people, properly multidisciplinary, all on one project. Your responsibility is bigger — but so is your impact. What you decide actually ships.

Skip the boring bit

Let's be honest: a CV is boring. It says almost nothing about you — nobody gets to know an engineer from a bullet list. We'd rather be the kind of company that, instead of grinding through hundreds of CVs, actually sees what you've got and bets on real, human contact over paperwork.

So come and show us what you have. Pick one of these — and yes, they're all about AI, because that's the part we care about:

Ready to show us something? In the application form you'll find a required question asking you to confirm and share your AI-built test, tool, or video — paste your link there (not in the generic 'Website, Blog or Portfolio' field).

• An app you've shipped. A link to the App Store, Google Play, GitHub, a repo or a demo. It doesn't have to be Kotlin Multiplatform — if KMP wasn't part of your previous projects, show us a mobile product you're genuinely proud of.

• A repository or open-source project you care about. Code we can actually read. Recent commits are a plus — we like people who are still building.

• A 2–3 minute video. Walk us through something you've built, or show us how you work with AI coding agents. How do you split the work? How do you review what Claude Code or Cursor gives you? Rough and honest beats polished and empty.

Used AI to build any of it? Good. That's exactly how the job works now — it counts in your favour, not against you.

If you're more senior

Same technical bar — the difference is what you own.

What we ask: several years building mobile products that reached real users; the ability to define technical direction and defend architectural decisions based on real trade-offs (time, quality, cost and complexity); ownership of production quality measured through metrics that matter, like stability, performance and maintainability; mentoring regulars and juniors; helping unblock the rest of the engineering team; surfacing risks early together with possible solutions; and representing the technical side directly with clients (English min. C1).

What do we offer?

• Be part of a talented, creative, and experienced team.

• Contribute to projects for clients around the world.

• Work with a schedule that fits your lifestyle.

• Private health insurance, MultiSport card, HearMe platform, and more.

• Work your way – remotely or from our Kraków office.
